Android 15 out to devs, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, Week 36 in review

Android 15 brings enhanced features, smoother performance, and improved security, shaping the future of Android devices.

Android 15 Released for Developers

Google has made Android 15 available, but only for developers at the moment. This version is still in its testing phase, which means regular users cannot download it yet. However, if you own a Pixel phone, you can expect to get the official update in the next few weeks. Other smartphone companies will also announce their update schedules soon.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 of Android 15 Announced

Qualcomm has introduced a new processor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which is designed for mid-range smartphones. This new chip brings some cool improvements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) tasks, like better noise cancellation during phone calls and improved activity tracking for health apps. Even though Qualcomm skipped a second version of this chip, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is quite similar to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, but with lower performance in some areas like display and CPU speed.

Samsung Galaxy S25 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Instead of Android 15

There have been many rumors about what processor Samsung will use for its upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Initially, it was believed that only Exynos chips would be used, but now reports suggest that all Galaxy S25 models—S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra—will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. This change could help improve the overall performance of these devices. However, it looks like Samsung will still use the Exynos 2500 chip for their foldable phones, like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, which are expected to launch in 2025.

New Tech Product Launches(Android 15)

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition: This new foldable phone is thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold6 and has a brushed design on the back. It also includes a 200MP camera. Unfortunately, this phone might only be available in China and South Korea.
  • Oppo A80: Oppo introduced its A80 smartphone in Australia, which is a rebranded version of the Oppo A3 Pro that launched earlier this year.
